Silver the Hedgehog is a character featured in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series, published by Sega. He made his first appearance in the 2006 game, Sonic the Hedgehog.

He hails from a devastated future, two hundred years after the events of the present-day Sonic games. Possessing psychokinetic abilities, Silver travels back in time to prevent the destruction of his world. His initial mission involves eliminating Sonic, who he believes is the "Iblis Trigger," the cause of his future's ruin.

Despite his well-intentioned goals, Silver is often portrayed as somewhat naive and easily manipulated. He frequently struggles to fully understand the complexities of time travel and its potential consequences. He is a recurring character in the Sonic universe, often working alongside Sonic and his friends despite their initial adversarial encounters.
